The ruling Communist Party of Nepal has determined the head and deputy head of thirty two central departments. The secretariat meeting of the party concluded with the decision of the head and deputy head for central departments.

The top leaders have breathed a sigh of relief after the party secretariat meeting, which was held Friday at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, distributed the responsibility of the department which had not been broken for long.

The decision was not made after the top leaders were divided on the issue of leadership of the school department.

After Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Ishwar Pokharel claimed themselves who to give the department the cadres also had chosen their side.

Finally, Ishwar Pokhrel, who is also the Defense Minister, agreed to give the head of the school department. Devendra Poudel has been given the deputy head of the department.

Similarly, spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha has appealed to the Head of Publicity Department. Surya Thapa, deputy head of the department, has been made.

The NCP has appointed 13 ministers as department head of the party when Some leaders, interested for, could not get the job.

Mahesh Basnet, a central member of the NCP and popular member in parliament from Bhaktapur, did not get the party responsibility in the department. He is also a former minister led industry ministry before.

There was talk of giving the party’s youth and sports department deputy head to Basnet. Mani Thapa, a standing committee member, was guessed for head and Basnet was guessed as his deputy.

According to the source, leader Thapa had reached to the private residence of Basnet in Gundu of Bhaktapur and consulted on the matter. Basnet, the influential leader of Bhaktapur, who is also supposed to be close to Prime Minister Oli, was a strong candidate for the post.  he was also a former president of yuwa Sangh, and his well-wishers were also in the lobbying of Basnet.

But A source close to Basnet claims he had no desire for the post.

The NCP has selected Top Bahadur Rayamajhi as the head and Thakur Gaire as the vice-head of that department.

Leader Mani Thapa has been made literary department head.

Former Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has a Foreign Department. Similarly another former prime minister jhalanath khanal got research department.

The meeting made influential leader Bamdev Gautam the head of the organization department. Gautam has also been proposed to be the party’s vice president. Another influential leader, Janardan Sharma, is in the deputy head of the organization department.
