Relief has been provided to the distressed families of Bhaktapur affected by the prolonged lock down imposed due to the second wave of Covid 19, which is a global epidemic. The Tibetine Et Pepules de I Himalaya (TPH) France, with the help of Unity Youth Club Pandobazar, provided relief to the needy families on Saturday.
Club President Poonam Chandra Giri said that relief has been distributed to 40 needy families in Suryabinayak-6 of Bhaktapur. Ravi Das Dong, a member of Unity Youth Club, informed that one bag of rice (30 kg), 2 kg of pulses, 2 packets of salt, 2 liters of oil and other essential food items were distributed to the needy families.
Secretary Kavin Dong has claimed that the club has been carrying out sports activities, public awareness programs to remove distortions and anomalies and has been extending a helping hand in recent epidemics and natural calamities too. He said that the youths are working together to solve the problems of the society.
The work of Unity Youth Club is commendable, said Naresh Waiwa, a local youth leader who is also the president of YCL Bhaktapur.
